Editing Services

“You know you are working with a good editor when after a couple pages of notes you stop reading the explanation and just hit ‘accept.’ I am VERY fortunate to be working with Chris Rhatigan. Fucking fantastic job.”— Joe Clifford, author of the Jay Porter series and The One That Got Away

“Chris Rhatigan has been indispensable as an editing partner with Full Dark City Press. His experience with writing and editing has has been a wonderful asset in getting FDC up and running. Any author needing a skilled and critical eye to look over their manuscript will be in good hands.”C. J. Edwards, publisher Full Dark City Press

I’m a freelance novel editor with more than a decade of experience in the genre. From my work as publisher of All Due Respect Books to editing manuscripts for Fahrenheit Press and Down & Out Books, I’ve been helping writers sharpen their work so it’s ready for public consumption.

The more I know about the project you’re working on, the better I can help you. I want to know where you are in the process, where you want to go, and how you’d like to get there. With every project I work on, my goal is to strengthen your work on your terms. You should feel confident that when your book hits the virtual or physical shelves, it’s exactly what you envisioned.

I have experience editing in all the following genres:

  • Mystery
  • Fantasy
  • Sci-fi
  • Thriller
  • Young adult
  • Mainstream/literary
  • Noir/hardboiled
